With rain gutters and side walls for the parasols, you can easily create a comfortable and sheltered terrace from multiple parasols. By connecting parasols with a rain gutter, you increase the dry surface area. By adding side walls, you create a wind-free, sheltered terrace. For hospitality venues, a dry and sheltered terrace often means more seating and a longer usable season for the terrace. With the right accessories, you can continue to use your terrace for most of the year.
A parasol rain gutter is placed between two parasols or at the edge of the parasol and ensures that rainwater is neatly drained to the desired side. Our manufacturers May, Caravita, and Poggesi each make the gutters in their own way. Connections with hanging systems, zippers, and/or Velcro are the available options. The advice is to keep the distance between the parasols at approximately 25 to 30 cm to create the best water drainage.
In addition to standard rain gutters, there are also free-hanging rain gutters available. These are placed on the outer edge of a parasol and ensure that rainwater does not fall directly from the fabric onto the terrace. This is a particularly practical solution in situations where parasols are, for example, placed in front of an overhang or canopy. Without this solution, rainwater can fall from the edge of the parasol, causing guests sitting there to still get wet.
With free-hanging rain gutters, the water is drained in a controlled manner, so the terrace remains comfortable and dry in these areas as well. An additional advantage is that no fixed gutters need to be mounted on a building or canopy, which provides more flexibility and a neat appearance.
With parasol side walls, you create extra shelter from wind, rain, and low sun. This is especially pleasant on terraces where additional protection is desired. By combining side walls with multiple parasols, a semi-enclosed space is created that offers protection against various weather conditions.
Side walls for parasols are available in different versions: completely closed, partially closed with windows, fully transparent, and for user convenience, they can be fitted with doors. The side walls are connected to each other with zippers or Velcro, and filler pieces are available for the spaces between the parasols. You can further reinforce the whole by placing stabilizers in various spots, making the entire setup even more resistant to wind.
